Re: Kansas DIY info
Personally, if I were doing an out of state hunt and having to travel any distance, I’d stay away from central and eastern Kansas. I would agree with this assessment. My brother and I went in 2016 to north central KS and there were birds everywhere...three birds went home with us in the cooler. A f...

Re: 2020 Merriam hunt
The black hills are fun but challenging. Went there in 2017 with a friend and we filled 1 of 2 tags...had a chance on the 2nd one but bumped him.. we were in/around birds most everyday but they are very tough to catch up with because they walk from sun-up to sun down seems like! You might consider r...

Re: lets hear about those oddball turkeys

Re: Goals
Here's mine for this year:
-Kill one w/ my new mouth call
-Get my wife on her first bird (she's excited)
-Limit out with at least 1 coming from public land
-Bring in a new friend or 2 to the thrill of turkey hunting
-MORE PATIENCE!
-Get a double! (this is my far out one!)

Re: Runner and gunner vs Setting up shop
i guess "slither and stealth" would be a better way to describe what i do! most of my moves are either strategic (when i'm working a bird) or slowly moving along trying to cover more ground and get on a bird.

Runner and gunner vs Setting up shop
First off, I'm new to the forum, so if this has been discussed already..my bad! Would you say you are mostly a runner and gunner or a hunter who likes to set up shop for longer periods in one area? or are you a mix of both? Me personally..i'm mostly a runner and gunner but my original turkey hunting...

Re: here's another one -- how would you kill this one?
if that in fact says "dry" on the eastern side of that slough , i'd follow that slough in from the east side off of that road and get as close as i comfortably could to "A". dont know if you'll talk em out of the corn on the other side but it seems that'd be your best shot. that ...
