Re: How long can you take it?

Like several have said it depends on weather,size/type of land, etc. but I usually sit 1-2 hours before moving on as a general rule.We can only hunt until 1 so I dont have to deal with long afternoon sits.

Maybe they should of euthanized him and let the snake live.............the snake seemed like the only one who knew what he was supposed to be doing in that sort of situation

Re: Turkey hunting sleep deprivation and leading a normal li

After 4 days straight of hunting I drove to a spot about 30 minutes from home to hunt one time and got there about 15 minutes earlier than I usually do.It had rained the night before and was still very cloudy so I knew I still had an hour before light would even start to crack and it was a short 10-...

Re: KNOW YOUR NUMBERS

I'd like to know where they get these numbers for "ideal" weight. According to their charts a typical NFL running back at around 5-10/6-0 weighing 200-225 is overweight or obese. Get real.

Re: KNOW YOUR NUMBERS

5' 10" 255 lbs. Could I stand to lose a "few".Ya.Do I worry about looking like some skinny azz fashion model so I can fit into the ideal weight range on their little chart, not even close. By the way I AM NOT FAT,i'm just short for my weight

I live in MO and have hunted KS but would like to try Nebraska. Not complaining if I had to only hunt at home though.

Re: Changed guns for a change of luck...

Both of my 870s (12 & 20) shoot a tad left past 30 yds(4 inches +/-).It is easily compensated for by just holding the bead so it touches the right side of their head at those distances.30 and in everything is dead on.I guess i'm lucky as I like to keep things very simple and not use anything but...

Re: Kansas

We went to Kansas(north central)for the first time last year. For sure different than what I was used to in MO.We did best by scouting the first full day we were there. We hunted either on public or the WIHA lands.Weather was unpredictable also. Our second day it got into the mid 90s and our last day i...

Re: What to do

I stay the course with my original plan on bird #1.If he pitches down and is henned up,I let him walk(if I cant get him to come or the hens to bring him to me).Reposition on to bird #2.If he's hot and heavy on the roost he may be alone lookin for love..............fast.If he does meet up with a hen ...

Re: 20 gauge market

I get the same reaction when I tell people I use the 20 most of the time.I think 90% + have probably never heard of TSS or Hevi-shot and dont understand what a truly set-up 20 is capable of.They here 20 gauge and instantly think of M or IC chokes using 7 1/2's shooting rabbits. I also hear alot of p...

I agree 100%. Some people think they have a PhD in call recognition.....man vs turkey,if you even mention the subject of preseason calling.

Re: Before Season...

I call before season quite often, just not into "range" so to speak. Ive had birds that were very eager come in after just one call during preseason. I just shut up,sit still, and watch em walk away. I subscribe to the Ray Eye school of "call shy"...........it doesnt exist. Turkeys...
