Re: 11-87 20ga shurshot stock
Well I have a dilemma, I bought the 870 20ga shurshot stock and it fits good on the 11-87, notice I said good and not perfect! Years ago I had an 870 express super mag, this was back in 04, well before the shurshot’s were out, and I had an afternarket pistol grip that I put on it after having my thu...

Re: 1187 20 gauge compact?
It was 449.99 and was black. 21” barrel with the Adjusaable Length of Pull kit. Yep! There was a sign advertising the 11-87 20ga black synthetic compact with 26”bbl for $449, however the display gun was a 21”bbl, I asked about it and told the guy I wanted that one, and he said it was his only one s...

I just bought the same gun with a 21” bbl yesterday, anxious to get it all setup and try her out.

11-87 20ga shurshot stock
I’m sure I’ve seen this question at least once or twice before, but CRS hits me hard! Does anyone know if the 870 20ga shurshot stock will fit the 11-87 20ga?

Turkey Vest info...
I’ts been years since I’ve bought a new vest, and even then I still used my older ones! I like the older vests more, the quality is a lot better, and I’ve always liked older camo patterns. The vest I’m currently using is an older Mossy Oak Elite Vest, I’m pretty sure it was the 1st Elite Model vest,...

Re: Are turkeys going the way of the quail
I heard Eddie Salter talk about this recently at a local sporting goods store in Kentucky. He made a good point, he said that insects are a large part of a wild turkeys diet and now days a lot of pesticides are being sprayed in fields where they weren't before. He specifically mentioned Alabama whe...

Re: Are turkeys going the way of the quail
I know for me gobbling activity isn’t the only way I gather information on how many turkeys are in an area. I look for tracks in the mud holes or tracks on soft dirt, dust bowls , feathers , strut marks , droppings , scratching areas and sightings. I don’t think some of the inexperienced hunters ev...

Re: Are turkeys going the way of the quail
Here’s something else that I’ve alwsys thought about as well when it comes to talk about declining turkey numbers. We all have a network of turkey hunters that we talk to or with regularly during the season. We’ve already established that there are more hunters in the woods in the spring now than ev...

Re: Are turkeys going the way of the quail
This has been a HOT topic in my area for the last decade or so. I remember hearing about it as far back as 12-15 years ago, and not really paying it much mind, at the time the hunting was awesome in my areas. I remember going back in those days and if I didn’t hear at least 5 different birds, it was...

Re: Dumb idea or not
I think you’ll be fine parking your vehicle and then covering it with some kind of material. A lot of places I hunt are similar to what you’re talking about, huge fields and wide open areas where the birds can see you coming long before you see them. And IME as well, you’re correct about birds spook...

Yep too much of a pain!! My avatar bird was 143 and change, would be #7 in Alabama(not sure about now). I was a member when I killed him and it was just too dang inconvenient!! Any bird over a certain weight(maybe 22 or 23lbs) had to be weighed on certified scales, with pictures, not a picture but p...

Re: Pregnant
I'm beginning to think they breed year round here in North Florida. I barely seen a rut last year. Pretty sure it's because we had like 1 frost. It was hot all hunting season. I'm still seeing fawns. Yep same here. I usually see spotties up until about mid-late November, and usually those spots are...

Re: Retirement destination
I would love to retire to somewhere close to Meridian, Mississippi or just on the Alabama side which is not too far away from Meridian. 5 gobblers in Alabama and 3 for Mississippi each Season if I could bag them all!!! You don't have to retire to do this, I know a guy who's been doing this for year...

Re: Number Of Wild Turkeys--What Is Your Goal In A Season??
I'm not much of a numbers guy when it comes to turkey hunting, I prefer quality over quantity. With that said I try and fill all tags available to me each spring, here in AL that number is 5. I'd love to be able to tag out each year, and some years are better than others, however I'll never reach #2...

I agree they should have had a bucket or stringer handy, i thought I remember someone saying they were getting a bucket to put the fish in after it was caught? It really wouldn't have mattered in this case as the mob was ready to jump regardless!
