Re: Beretta A300 Turkey 20 gauge

Does the receiver have more holes drilled and tapped in it besides the ones for the picatinny rail? Especially closer to the rear of the receiver. I plan on using a Sumtoy mount to get the red dot Burris closer to the barrel.

Beretta A300 Turkey 20 gauge

Anyone had enough experience with the Beretta 20 gauge turkey A300 ultima to recommend it? I have seen one post of a nice pattern, but cannot find any other real world experiences. Also, how close is the point of impact to the point of aim using the factory front bead? Does the picatinny rail positi...

Child Sized Pot Call

Does anyone have a suggestion for a small sized pot caller? My 7 year old has a hard time gripping my traditional sized pot calls and I was hoping to get him something easier to hold in his hand.

Also, what do you recommend as the easiest surface for him to learn on?

Ground Blind suggestions for a 7 year old

What does everyone recommend for a ground blind for taking a 7 year old hunting? He does really good but he is still a kid.

We hunted out of a borrowed Ameristep Hub ground blind this weekend. He could have killed several jakes, but chose to wait on a gobbler.

Re: Gloss finish a concern

I will look into the tape. He basically lives to hunt and since he killed a deer this year he thinks he should be able to kill a turkey.

Now that would be a good year. I have already gotten a ton of help on this website and hope things fall into place.

Gloss finish a concern

I am working on a youth gun for my 7 year old. The problem is it is a gloss finish gun with wooden stock. Should I try to get the gun dipped or will it be okay as it is?

Remington 1100 Stock

I have a 7 year old that loves to hunt. I have both an Remington 870 and a Remington 1100 in 20 gauge for him to turkey hunt this year. I already have a friend that is helping me with a youth stock for the 870, but I also need a shorter stock for the 1100. Has anyone ever cut an 1100 synthetic stock...

Well John continues to spend my money. The only thing is on the bake on finishes I do not see a good pattern and you can't bake plastics.

Camoflauge or Stay Black

What is the opinion on a black turkey gun versus a Camoflauge turkey gun? Is it worth the cost to have a black 870 Hydrodipped? I have a 20 gauge 870 that I put an adjustable stock on recently. How hard is it to hydrodip the adjustable stock and how well do they turn out? Sent from my iPhone using T...

Remington 870 Forend Removal? 20 gauge

Is there an easy way to remove the retaining nut on the Forend of an 870, 20 gauge? I see special tools for the 12 gauge, but nothing for the 20 gauge.

I want to change my wooden Forend for a synthetic Forend.

Remington 20 Gauge Stock Question

I want to change the stock on a 20 gauge Remington 870. Planning on changing the stock to an adjustable stock, but I need help on which one to buy. Knoxx seems like the first choice, but they appear to have disappeared from the face of the earth. ATI makes one that looks to have a good appearance to...

Is this a good shell to have as a backup to TSS shells? Is this a good price in 10 of the shells?

Thanks

.410 Remington 870 Build Questions

I sincerely thank each and every one of you for your advice. Planning on taking my boys hunting is as good if not better than the hunt itself.

I still wish my neighbor had let me shoot his .410 more than once. Only time I ever shot a .410 in my life. I think I need counseling.

.410 Remington 870 Build Questions

Just to make sure I am thinking correctly. With the 20 gauge I can load a lighter recoil TSS load that will be equal to or less than the recoil of the .410? The advantage being more pellets in the 20 gauge lighter recoil load versus the .410? Secondly, I do not think I would gain a lot of weight adv...

.410 Remington 870 Build Questions

Thanks for all your replies and I do respect your opinions. My question is does the TSS load become the great equalizer? Does the .410 now become the same as a 20 gauge with factory loads? I tried to read a lot on the .410 after seeing the different posts on hunting with a .410. In my humble opinion...

.410 Remington 870 Build Questions

Looked at the 20 gauge and the .410 together today. I used a micrometer and the receivers seemed to be the same size. I almost think a 20 gauge stock would work on a .410 as well. I will report back if I end up going that route. The magazine tubes were different sizes so I might be out of luck on th...

.410 Remington 870 Build Questions

I think I have located a Remington 870 in .410 gauge and I need a little help. My two sons are very small in stature and I was thinking the .410 would even be better. First off, the gun has a wood stock and Forend. Will the ATI strike force stock that fits the 20 gauge fit the .410? Where can I find...

Remington 870 20 Gauge Build Cost

I went ahead and bought a 20 gauge 870 Express Magnum. I have been thinking about the modifications and the cost. 20 Gauge 870 versus 20 Gauge Benelli M2

Couple of questions. Is the 26" barrel ok or should I look for a shorter barrel? Is the ATI Scorpion adjustable stock a good fit for the 870 20 gauge? What is a good forend to go with the ATI stock? Is an all black gun just as good as a camouflage gun? If not, how would you camouflage this gun ...

20 Gauge 870 versus 20 Gauge Benelli M2

I already asked some good friends this question, but thought I would get some more opinions. I want a 20 gauge gun to shoot TSS loads. Here are my options. I already own a Benelli 20 gauge M2, 26 inch barrel in camo. I use it quail hunting and like the little gun a lot. I have never patterned this g...

Deer Feeder Problems

I actually live in South Georgia as well. I have 3 plastic feeders and one all metal feeder. I think my problem is the high humidity in the barrels captures moisture along the walls of the barrels and causes the corn to spoil. In several of the barrels the inside corn was dry and relatively normal. ...

I have been thinking along these same lines. With the price of corn going up I had to throw away about $60 worth of corn yesterday and broke two feeders. All for a little goat meat.

Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent my plastic feeder barrels from sweating due to heat and humidity? Went to check my feeders yesterday and the corn was wet and molded in 4 of them. All 4 of the feeders only had about 100 lbs of corn at the most in each one. After dealing with the mess of e...

Diaphragm Call Mastery?

Is the mastery of mouth calls necessary to be a really good turkey caller?

I know the benefits of using a mouth call for close work. I have a box full of diaphragm calls, but I just never sound great to myself. It seems like you need some musical talent to be a good mouth caller.
