Re: Beretta A300 Turkey 20 gauge
Does the receiver have more holes drilled and tapped in it besides the ones for the picatinny rail? Especially closer to the rear of the receiver. I plan on using a Sumtoy mount to get the red dot Burris closer to the barrel. The one that I bought does. Without looking I think the receiver has 5 ta...

Re: Beretta A300 Turkey 20 gauge
The patterns in the thread Question on pattern flyers in the hand loading section were shot out of the A300 20. So far I like it other than the over sized bolt release. Havent shot it just using the bead. I have a Burris FF3 on the factory rail. Its not too bad. It is a bit high but not unusual for ...

Re: My Weatherby Element Turkey
Pretty consistent patterns from gun to gun. Had about the same results from an IC .562. 8 1/2's also put up a nice pattern. Pulled mine from consignment being it wasnt getting much interest and also figured I might be making a mistake selling it. Cutting the stock so it is straight rather than being...

Maybe someone with a 3d printer can whip up a nice spacer to fit if that one doesn't work out?

Re: My Weatherby Element Turkey
Put mine up for consignment today. It sure could use a factory mid bead and a drilled and tapped receiver. Wouldnt cycle the 7/8 oz load either but had no trouble cycling a 1 1/4 oz load. The butt is concaved a bit I guess to wrap the shoulder. And LOP felt a bit long to me. Not a big fan of that an...

Re: 870 patterns
10's are for looks. They will fill out any pattern. I dont get why they even load em in the 12 or 20. I can understand if your loading a very light low recoil load for a youth and want the #'s up. I never shot tss in a 2.5oz load. #8's or 7's in a 2oz load is more than enough to get the job done wit...

Re: 20 vs 28
I have a couple that I am looking at now. The Weatherby element turkey 22" really caught my eye for the price. I was wanting something with a shorter barrel since my m2 is 26" and everywhere I have read says they can't be shortened. I am handloading my own stuff now so shells wouldn't be ...

Re: 870 youth vs jr
I just picked up the 870 youth jr tonight. Its what they had in stock and a great price tag or I might have snagged a Mossberg. Most likely wont get to shooting it for a bit. Plan on setting it up for the kids and shooting a 1 1/4 oz load of tss out of it. Sure will be interesting to see how it shoo...

Re: Decoy or no decoy
Ive used decoys more than not but this year I have been splitting it up because I been hunting in the woods more often and the past 3 years havent been my best seasons.. Most years I set up and sit tight close to or in a field. This year I been on the move more trying to learn more of the area. I ha...

Sorry to hear. I looked at the Tristar's and almost bought one. Glad I didnt now. Been hearing some bad also. Things have gotten worse since the country went down the crapper over the covid deal. Its hard to get good quality anymore.

Re: Weatherby element turkey 20ga
The first shot I took I had my head down too tight on the gun and the shot went low. That pattern looked to be a little better maybe. There was a small difference in the 2 rounds. Here is the first shot taken. Heres the pattern colored and #'s. 333 in the 10 and 190 in the 20. Not quite the whole 2...

Re: Weatherby element turkey 20ga
If anyone would happen to know the true weight of the 20 gauge Element would you care to let me know? I am seriously thinking about buying one if they are under 6 pounds. TIA Just picked one up. It weighs in at 6.2lb on my digital scale. Wow that's a chunker. Does anybody know if Weatherby makes a ...

SA28 tactical or SA 28 compact all purpose
Lets hear your thoughts. Seems to me the compact is throwing a better pattern than the tactical but the tactical is a nice camo with the pistol grip. Im torn between the 2 and was able to actually find a compact. Not much time here to decide. LOL I have components to load for the gun. Just need the ...
