My guess for that light pay load would be a .660 or tighter.

Re: jealousy or unsportsmanlike

A buddy of mine had a guy sh!! by his driver's door so he would step in it. And he sure as heck had a mess in his truck after stepping in it.

I wouldnt take a stunt like that as lightly as he did.

I think it's more the load and choke combo that would make the difference in how they would pattern.

Re: Remington® Model 870 SPS Super Mag Turkey vs Turkey/Predator

I have a 23" that shoots some great 40yrd patterns with tss 8's. It patterns better than the SBE II's I had. One was a 24" and the other was a 26". I don't think you would see much a difference between the 20 and 23" barrels but my preference would be the 23" barrel because the 3" won't make that bi...

Re: Mossberg 500, Carlson .575, BIG 20XL

That nice for the big 20 xl. I shot the same set up minus 2" of barrel. It will smoke a Turkey for sure. I now went to a shorter barreled 500, older youth model and still have shot 300 in the 10 at 40 with a hevi 13 choke. A sumtoy 562 will tighten it up even more. Sent from my SM-J727VPP using Tapa...

Re: New used toy

Yes it is a Rem 870. The sights are junk. Any suggestions? I am thinking of swapping the barrel out to a vent rib and getting the receiver drilled and tapped.

Re: Missed one today with TSS! (first time using TSS)

I missed 5 longbeards last year and 2 so far this year. all 7 missed were between 10 and 18 yards. I cant shoot for **** and I don't care. I get tore up bad man. as Jamey stated, there will always be another chance. If you are getting them in that close I would shoot a more open choke for some wigg...

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary

Well I picked up the 28 today and took it to the patterning board. Here is the best I came up with, with what I had loaded up. I was shooting the factory improved mod choke on this pattern. The factory full and Carlsons extended full seemed over choked. I had spotty patterns with them. The gun is sh...

Re: Scope mount for 1187 20ga

I had my 1187 20 drilled and tapped. I bought a saddle mount also and luckily I didn't waist my time with it because of the fit. They do make a rib mount but I'm not sure who makes it. I might have seen it on amazon.

I looked at a 4-10 today. The stock is centered up. No left or right cast off.

Sounds good! I might run 2 extended chokes. I am guessing the bottom barrel will shoot a bit low but I am hoping not.

Got the choke ordered. Is there enough room to put 2 extended chokes in, one in the upper and one in the lower barrel?

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary

I use a .531 Carlson extended choke on mine and it prints really tight. My kids all used that gun for their fall turkey hunts and it worked great except at 15 yards the pattern in the size of a baseball causing a couple misses. I was going to fiddle with my tss load to open the pattern a little bit...

I was looking for something like that last night but could not come up with anything. I did a search and got some 20 and 410's but no 28's.
