Collaboration with Brian Aliff
After going to the recent Unicoi turkey call show in Georgia, I found a new desire to start making turkey call strikers again. It's been about 8 years since I've made very many and wasn't sure I still had what it takes. On the trip home, I had an idea and called my buddy Brian Aliff who has crazy ta...

Re: Avian Decoys Input
My Avian dekes also leak. Very poor customer service when I talked to them about said leaks. I seldom use decoys anymore and will not buy Avian X if I do decide to use them in the future.

I also use a 6mm and have only shot 80 grain slugs through it. Never had a deer complain in 30 years.

That may happen but then, he may not want to with the other signatures on it. I thought about asking him.
I do know that Mike designed that call.

Re: My Lastest DIY Project is finished and I like it myself!
My mount is actually two birds. The neck from one and the head from the other. Shot one in the neck and one in the head. Put the good parts from each together to make the mount.

Re: My Lastest DIY Project is finished and I like it myself!
I'm from Marion County up north. Seems like most of the West Virginia turkey hunters on forums are from the southern part. Boiled them in Dawn dishsoap and then used hair bleach on them to whiten them. Stranded #12 AWG white wire works well to string the vertebrae on. I have plans to make a beard sh...

Re: My Lastest DIY Project is finished and I like it myself!
Here is my euromount from last year. Ran the vertebrae on a piece of white wire and then glued on the skull.
There are also some small eyebrow bones that need to be glued back on.
I sure do like your beard boards.

You have a great friend. Now learn to use that trumpet. It will take quite a bit of time but it's well worth it. I called in two longbeards to my gun this year with a trumpet.
