Great photos and write up Shane, looks like an awesome trip.
Interestingly, I killed a turkey in Illinois last spring that’s tail looked just like yours. I’ve never seen an Eastern with a tail like that.

Re: Favorite Turkey?
My most memorable would probably be the first adult gobbler I killed in the fall.
My best memories involve someone else pulling the trigger. The last bird I was able to call in for my late father, all ofthe birds I’ve got to watch my son take, several other family members and hunting partners.

Re: Remington 870 20 - choke options
The only options I have right now to pick up from the store, Cabela's in Billings, is the Carlson TSS.555 or the Cabela's.575. It's unlikely that I will buy the Cabela's brand. I wondered if anyone had experience with the Carlson .555. I don't make it to Billings often and don't have any 20 ga turk...

Re: Rob Roberts Raptor
I’ve been shooting Final Strut .570s in both of my M2 20s since I believe late 2017. They throw a nice even hunting pattern. I typically use beads so I really like the wiggle room. I got one of the new Raptors and tried it in my 24” gun. It definitely has a hotter core, but still has good coverage i...

Boy I would really like one to hunt with but not sure I can justify the cost. That’s a lot of gas and license fees.

Re: 20 gauge turkey gun
The new 870 Fieldmaster youth is a nice little gun. Comes drilled and tapped and also has sling hardware installed. Might be another option to consider. Is this the new Remarms shotgun? Drilled & tapped? Yes sir. I believe they will all be drilled and tapped now. Even the wood stock field models.

Re: Slingers Out There?
My dad always took the swivel off the forearm when he set up, laid the sling behind him. I always did this as well. For the last four seasons I’ve just been going without a sling altogether.
