Re: Youth 870 20ga Question
You can buy spacers cheap from Remington’s website. I use them on mine and take them off for my boy.

Re: New 28ga Factory full
That factory full will kill one all day long, but I wouldn't shoot one past the range tested.
You'll have a nice even hunting pattern at the range most birds are killed.

If you put much weight on a lead sled, something is going to break.

That's a normal price. I had 6 done once for $62.50ea, but it was a one time group special several years ago.

Re: 90/93
Yes, cushion under the shot lowers PSI as well. Even 1/8” felt can make a big difference in certain wads and powders.

Re: 90/93
I loaded up 10 of the 90/93's this spring to pattern but never got around to shooting them, I shoot a M2 and when I cut the cushion off the 93 wad I cut it right down flush with the top of the gas seal. My OAL ended up being 2.420 to 2.435 which should cycle fine in the Benelli, what I am wondering...

Re: 90/93
Why not just shoot a 2.75" 1 5/8oz load? That would be easier than having to trim the hull and cut the wad just right. Also, if you cut the 93 too much, you are going to lose cushion and the pressures will rise. are you sure about that? Others might correct me if my thinking is wrong, but the ...

Re: 90/93
There are a lot of good loads out there, some are easier to load than others. Of my 1-5/8oz loads, the Lil Hammer is one of the easiest to load and components are readily available. I've tested and developed many loads and it patterns the best and most consistent for me. It gets very good feedback a...

Re: why 9 over 8 tss?
Duplexing actually does hold the string together longer. I've proved this time and time again with various shot materials. The basic result is the numbers would be very close count wise with duplexed loads(IE 8x9 TSS or 7.5x6 hevi). It was so close with Hevi that I primarily ran 6x7s for many years....

TX was a blast as usual, Pop and I got 5 birds total. I started on a small wheat field that’s usually a pretty good spot, but nothing was around. Tried a couple more spots with no luck, so headed to the camp. Drove around back to glass a big field and as I crested the hill, I spotted two lone toms, ...

Thank God for quick hunts! I needed that one after a long opening week. It was raining at daybreak, so I went to a big gas line where I’d heard one a few days prior, but no luck. I went to another place about 5-6mi away and tried for a while with no response, so headed back to the truck about 10. Wh...

I lucked onto a nice one here at home. I went to a place where I’d gotten within range of a tom opening week, but didn’t get a shot due to brush. I tried him a couple more mornings, but he didn’t talk. Friday morn I decided to give him a shot again and luckily that rascal was fired up at daylight as...

Mine are all starburst, but it's my eyes. I place a tiny piece of electrical tape over the daylight sensor to where the edge of the tape is not completely covering the sensor. This allows me to slide the small square of tape as needed to adjust the brightness of the dot, which brings back a nice rou...
