Re: Switching choke tube from one gun to another--similar pattern?
Have to shoot to find out. I’ve set up a bunch of CZ Bobwhites, and in the 20’s for example in the “open” barrels, I’ve used cyl, skeet1, imp cyl, skeet 2. All using same load. It just depends on what that gun wants to shoot. Even more variance if you change any other variable (ammo or gun)

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
The first gun I did had to move way right. Like objectionably so. Knowing what I know now, I would file the choke tube on the left barrel. It’s my son’s now and he won’t let me touch it. It shoots too well for him.

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
crow Ken is spot on on how to handle poi issues. I shoot big payloads in both barrels and run the right barrel real open. I have one gun that I had to move the rear sight objectionably far to the right. It needs to be filed but now belongs to my son who does not want it messed with as it shoots too...

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
As to barrel regulation, search on here. I’ve got many posts about it. If you don’t try to make it shoot to the same spot you likely won’t find difficulties. I do know of one that may require filing of the choke tube to move the poi some

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
The G2’s are a little heavier, but remember that they are 3” chambers. My 2 first generations weigh 6 and 5.75 respectively.
Coming from a 12 (which I did) the 20 is a pleasure to tote through.

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
If you got a Skinner, unscrew the apperture insert and pull it out. Practice in yard by picking out a target and shouldering gun with both eyes open, then put front “bead on target without trying to center. Do this as quickly as you can repeatedly. Pick a new target and repeat. Spend 2-3 minutes a d...

Re: Bobwhite SxS sights
That’s not really how peep sights work, especially with large diameter appertures or even no apperture at all. The way it’s supposed to work is by placing front “bead” on target looking through the rear sight. One of the visual phenomena is that your brain centers the front sight in the rear sight a...

Re: chokes for back bore barrels
I would like to agree, to a point, with the above. In hunting situations, FOR ME, I have found that .600(Full) or even.605(Imp Mod) gave really good 40 yd 20” and a really nice forgiving 20 yard pattern. From past experience, I rarely miss at distance. I absolutely miss up close and shooting basebal...

Re: chokes for back bore barrels
Spur is correct. For reference take a look at Trulock chokes’ site. Compare Browning Invector Plus to RemChoke. Construction/diameter is listed for each choke.

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
Gil, I’d recommend removing the “insert” aperture and shoot just the “ring”. You’ll have a much bigger field of view and target acquisition is faster.
