Re: Shooting hen turkeys
It’s ok to be passionate about what you love.. But some take it to the next level and attack people personally Not to derail but this is on target. Guy on the other forum called a guy gay, thread was deleted eventually and only one member called him out. He also made horrible comments about Native A...

Re: Shooting hen turkeys
If you’ve not hunted turkeys long enough to know that hens are a lot easier to call up than a Gobbler you haven’t been at this long enough for your opinions to matter. In this instance there was no skill involved just creeped up and bushwhacked hen. The worst part to me was all the stupid giggling a...

Re: What do I think
Well I’ll admit I was wrong. Just watched the THP on YouTube one of there buddies stalks up and shoots a bearded hen dusting in a field. They are garbage as far as I’m concerned

Re: What do I think
I can’t stand all the tv hero’s Wadell etc. I think the THP boys are at least not a bunch of fat slobs like I normally see in the woods. If nothing else there safe with there guns, you never see them pointing them at each other like on some shows. And there is zero arrogance the guys just love to hu...

Re: S. Ga. Hunting buddy
I always carry a couple of dove loads just for snakes I never , ever leave a water moccasin alive. If I happen to be close to a Gobbler a good stick will take care of it just as easy. One shot at a snake won’t matter much to a distant Gobbler.

Re: Heavy field loads
I tend to shoot heavy-shot but sometimes I hunt thick woods and when I see the bird he is close. I hate shooting a 6 dollar shell to kill a bird at 20 and closer. Sent from my moto g(6) (XT1925DL) using Tapatalk I hate paying for the gas I use in scouting and hunting. Much rather use a expensive sh...

Re: snake bites anyone?
Not to hijack, but anyone have experience with turtle skin gaiters? I wear them over my LeChameau Chasseurs. I like them. Gil How loud are they? They sound about like a windbreaker when rubbed together. I wore mine under my hunting pants there very light and you’ll forget your wearing them. I ended...

Re: Start of avian pox?
Nothing funny about the avian pox, when you lose most of your birds you’ll have plenty of time to make jokes cause you won’t be Turkey hunting. I’d lay off the bait maybe call a biologist see what he thinks

Re: Hunting with a trumpet
I don’t like gloves when using a trumpet. I’ve never used the carbo mask but the military paint sticks, and I mean the metal tubes not the aftermarket junk, works well it’s like hard clay in the tube but when you rub it on it’s on for awhile sweat and even rain won’t wash it off. It comes off no pro...

Re: Mississippi Requires Gobbler Check In
A lot of states require hunter harvest check in and they have more turkeys than Mississippi and better hunting. I’m for anything that hinders poachers/thieves etc. Mississippi is obviously trying to get a handle on the turkey decline everyone has been crying about. And I don’t think anything will in...

Re: First Bird Despite Disrespectful Hunters
How do you know nobody wants to watch it Primos does it all the time and they are fairly popular ! I know because Primos stopped making the dvds because no one was buying them. They still turkey hunt on tv but it’s 12 min of hunting and the rest is commercials. The only people I know that would wan...

Sorry for your loss. I once left my rifle leaning against a pine tree in Georgia while I filled my canteen. The drill sergeant was not happy, I had to low crawl around the entire camping area for about half a day. I NEVER leave my weapon out of reach.... EVER one of the most useful lessons I learned.

I notice most posts here are reruns of the same post on OG. Same person posts the same question and then the same people answer about the same way on here. Lol Are you looking for a different answer or just bored?

Re: Chufa- Is it worth it?
I think the OG thing was more about hunting over the Chufas as bait. No one said it was wrong to plant them, but you could substitute corn for Chufas with the same benefit. How many think it's ok to shoot Gobblers that follow hens to a corn feeders like they do in Texas?

Re: Iowa turkey season
Advice: get on the Iowa DNR site. You have to buy a liscence to enter the drawing for a specific zone and season. You better get on it the deadline is coming up and after that it's leftover tags in leftover zones and seasons

Re: tss 10 shot effective range?
I went from 9's to 8's because I don't like picking shot out of it before cooking. I cant imagine using 10's I don't shoot TSS... but I thought penetration was the #1 selling point why are you having to pick so much of the shot from the meat? Another question 1100fps is the standard for making the ...

Why can people stand on a corner with a god hates fags sign but not pray? Why is prayer not covered under a first amendment right? Most "fags" or gays whatever you want to call them are against prayer...Because the Bible clearly says it's wrong. It's now legal for a man to dress like a wo...

I refilled a bunch for some reason the original plastic bottles wouldn't fill up completely only about a little over half way....but still way cheaper than the store bought. As far as the homemade pad refills I've seen guys using permethrin which is not safe permithrin is a poison that when dry is o...
