Back in the day in the NASCAR world there was a chassis builder named Banjo Mathews. At his shop there was a sign over the front door that said “ Money buys speed , how fast do you want to go”. I guess it still applies.

My father used to race them and the 440. Both the 383 and the 440 came in a magnum. He would bore the cylinders out cut the deck and cylinder heads and put a big ole camshaft in them and make thumpers out of them.

I guess I mis spoke. You can stroke about any kind of engine. Dodge had a 383 that was not a stroked engine.

Bought a 380 from Hoobilly,hope my Savage 301T shoots like Terrrells Tristar. Thanks Mr. Hoobilly, fixin to order some 383 Strokers from you Sir. And by the way , Not sure many turkey hunters know what a 383 stroker is but working in racing for most of my life I know it’s hard to beat a small block ...

For sure Hoobilly, pretty cheesy. I ended up loctiting the screws in and used some 2 part epoxy from work to hopefully keep it from moving around.

Not sure I jumped on the Savage band wagon but I did jump on the 410 band wagon , I did purchase a 301 . I figured for the price why not. It has an optics mount and a screw in choke, probably would have spent the 169.00 on getting another brand drilled and tapped and the barrel threaded plus my 10 ...

Not sure I jumped on the Savage band wagon but I did jump on the 410 band wagon , I did purchase a 301 . I figured for the price why not. I ordered mine off the Savage website 2 weeks ago, received it a week later . Delivered to my local gun store, now it’s not even offered on their website. Maybe they did a small run to see how they would sale.
