Re: .410 Blown Pattern Issue Solved

I splay the wads open(enough to see that the depths are even) kind of like a blooming flower before I insert them into the hulls. They close up when fully inserted. It seems to be a problem more with the sub gauge wads rather than larger. Why do I find it funny when bullethead speaks of blooming fl...

Re: Roll crimp help

Simple things for roll crimping: Drill press' chuck spin speed varies by whoever's design made the roll crimp tool head . This means that an optimum speed is going to be different from a roll crimper from BPI... which will be different speed for Precision Reloading's roll crimper... which will be di...

This would be even more uninteresting if the state allowed a Caterpillar D8 to doze this stupid Rover Pipeline under 2,000,000 cubic yards of dirt.

Re: Franchi 48al issue

Better solution: the DaMar 6-screw shotgun mount. Screws thread into the curved, "fat" part of the aluminum on the receiver. Gunsmith installation is necessary (as the screws are about 45 degrees from vertical (3 on each side of the receiver). http://www.jesseshunting.com/photopost/data/500/Mr_Shine...

Re: Tungsten prices

Tungsten is a considered a "minor metal commodity."

While many factors influence its price, the primary factor is supply/deman. That said, the World Trade Organization (WTO) can also directly influence pricing (primarily due to trade restrictions placed on the country of China).

Re: Drill Press Speed

Not all roll crimpers are equal!

Roll crimper tool head spin speeds are based on the particular design of each brand of roll crimper. (I use GAEP at 1,100-1,150 rpm)

This is seldom spoken to so I thought I would state this in order to avoid "first time user frustrations."

Barring any revelations from the outskirts of the Rover Pipeline mentality, consider this: -With a gloved hand covering the brass and most of the sides of the hull, "dust" 3-5 passes of Quick Dry Polyurethane aerosol over the roll crimp. Immediately following your Polyurethane dusting coats, ...

I still don't believe Tom; he doesn't own said thermal imaging riflescope.

Show me a non-Democrook redacted receipt.

And why in the world would you be turkey hunting with a 6.8 SPC AR-15? Send the Burris Pepper to LaRue Tactical; they might be able to machine you a mount.

Whats the best way to go about getting these GAEP roll crimpers?
APEX ammo has them if you prefer to order within the United States.

If you prefer to obtain a GAEP roll crimper directly from GAEP, "Charles" at gaep61@gmail.com

Charles WILL return his emails.

If one is range-finding turkeys in the field for shooting at long distance, its probably best to consider not hunting altogether.

Re: Federal TSS - Just thinking outloud...

Just get the TSS Federals on sale, with rebate or whatever, buy a bunch and vampire the shells for the TSS shot and reload. With TSS, you probably can't worsen the load from the Federal performance level (whatever it is). The assurance of fresh powder charges and good crimps is reason enough to "rol...

Re: Is the 20 ga 3” round obsolete for turkey hunting?

3-inch 20 gauge hulls are very useful because a hull trimmer can be utilized to remove the skived edge. It is very difficult to find 20 gauge hulls that are NOT already pre-skived. In my experiences with a GAEP 20 OTP roll crimping toolhead, unskived hull plastic produces a much better looking and O...

Re: Browning bps or mossberg 500?

Make sure you realize that a Browning BPS in .410 weighs a flat 7 lbs. If you are getting into the whole .410/TSS fad, this will not be your best choice for a light .410 gauge. A better gun than a Mossturd but admittedly heavier.
