I think he worked something out with Hookedspur.
Hope everyone had some good hunting this year.

Re: WTT For 410 Hulls
Hard to believe with all the talk about needing components, especially the highly coveted Federal hulls, that no one has any 410 hulls to trade. I did see some on that auction website for $100 a bag and some others for $25 for 25…. Seems the 410 hulls have gone the way of the federal hull in popular...

WTT For 410 Hulls
Figured this might help someone out here. I got a buddy looking for some 410 hulls and he has some of the 20 ga components folks been looking for. 20 ga TPS wads, 20ga fiocchi and federal hulls. 12 ga components as well. Or I'm willing to just buy them at a reasonable price. Looking for a couple hun...

Recognized from 24 and welcome.
Better tighten up the lips on them deer spots or you’ll have more company than you want.
Nice deer.

Re: New Turkey Gun Sight- which do you prefer?????
A little more expensive, but I recently purchased an Eotech EFLX due to robust housing design and no reflective coating on the lens.
I have not mounted or hunted it yet.

Re: Red or green?
I prefer the green.
However, I recently bought a red Eotech eflx because there is no reflective coating on the glass AND the housing seems very robust.

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
Not trying to be argumentative, but unless your 870 28 gauge is built different than mine, our definitions of “light as a feather” are not calibrated equally. Mine weighs in at almost 6.5 lbs. I wouldn’t even call a 20 gauge “light” until you hit that 6lb or sub 6 lb mark. My 28 ga 870 express with...

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
RockinL, I haven't seen this mentioned here so I will throw in a couple more cents If you are concerned with weight you can go down even one step further and still be PLENTY capable at killing turkeys to distances much further than we should shoot A 28ga is capable of shooting a 1-5/8oz payload. Fo...

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
I’d strongly consider that Weatherby Element turkey 20 with the 22” barrel. From what I can tell, it looks like a clone of the older benelli’s that I love. It’s half the price of a retay or Franchi or Benelli. Which Benelli does it look like? From the videos I’ve watched, the action looks similar t...

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
I have been hunting with a 16 gauge this year and handloaded tss. Pound for pound it really isn't much lighter than a 12 gauge, if at all. But with proper setup the 16 gauge is very lethal. I think the 20 and 28 gauges offer the best benefits with tss loads, lighter guns and lighter recoil. I admit...

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
Welcome to the forum. Light 20’s are great. There’s some nice 16’s out there too, and to be honest, the 16’s are easier to find components and they are equally as impressive as a 20. It can be harder to find a lighter 16, but there are plenty 20 ga options. Thank you for the welcome, I appreciate i...

Re: .410 or 20 for kids?
Gun weight being equal ——- someone please tell me what the expected recoil would be out of a 410 shooting a 1 oz load would be compared to a 20 gauge shooting a 1 oz load same velocity? Its gonna be the same. Thats what determines the felt recoil. Also, really helps them manage recoil if the gun fi...

Re: 16 ga 870 with Eotech
I have a 12ga 870 Super Mag with the same stock. My barrel is shorter and gas rifle sights. I’m looking to add a scope rail and a Holosun 510C circle dot sight. My receiver is not drilled and tapped. I was worried the sight would be too high but after seeing yours I think I’ll be ok! I actually lik...

Re: 16 ga Compact 870 weight
I’m using a Trulock choke. I think it’s overchoked, but I’ve had good luck with it. It doesn’t have a tight core. I’m not a fan of the IC chokes and super hot core patterns.

16 ga Compact 870 weight
I have a sureshot stock on my 870 compact 16 ga. With an Eotech 512. Goodness gracious this thing is heavy. I weighed it today, and it’s over 9.5 lbs (the sight weight listed is 11.5 oz) This weight is loaded with 2 shells, but still….it’s a pig on the heavy side…lol How much weight do you guys thin...
