Re: Slate Calls
Man, it is basically what sounds good to you. There are so many good call maker's out there that make Awesome calls. I personally like an Aluminum and had a lot of success striking a gobbler with an aluminum. I finish almost all the birds with a mouth call. Pat Strawser, Natural Addiction Custom Ca...

Slate Calls
What's you guys general opinion about glass vs. wood slate calls? Glass seems to have a higher pitch but I don't know if it really matters. Include the brand / model slate you have if you would recommend it.

You're the real MVP. Been looking for a cheap vest, not wanting to spend too much. Is this a reputable company?

Re: Trail Cameras
If it is legal in your area, you can. Remember that also brings lots of other critters and predator's awaiting an easy meal. I put cameras on mineral licks and put corn out June - August for deer, in order to see whats out there quickly. Not turkeys though! Yeah yeah it's legal. Thanks for the tips...

Re: Trail Cameras
So should I be putting corn out in front of the cam or something else to attract them? I have it in an area where they already walk I'm pretty sure.

Trail Cameras
How many people here use trail cameras to spot some gobblers? I've just set out a camera and I'm curious. What are some signs and locations that y'all look for when setting out cameras?

Thank you kindly. The name ought to help my odds as wellToddmann wrote:Well if your bank can handle 40ish maybe go with this. I myself do not use a box call but I know more than a few folks that have fooled a few with this one. Good luck.

Box Calls
I have recently purchased a Primos Wet Box turkey call. The pitch is very high and although I am a somewhat unexperienced hunter of turkeys, it does not seem to be as rich or accurate as other calls I have heard. Maybe the catch is that it sounds better in the rain, who knows. Maybe it's the Indian,...

Re: GoPro Camera
I use the GoPro Session and turn the recording light off, so it doesn't blink red when it's recording. I have some footage from a previous hunt that we did not kill anything on but the sound is remarkable as you can hear the turkeys in the distance

Any Responses Yet?
I've been out once or twice with a box call and a slate. Nothing much happened. Might have been too windy for the sound to really carry over the woods. Season doesn't start for a little while longer in MS, but is anyone having success with responses yet? Also what is the best tactic for setting out ...
