No spurs, melanistic, but the one that beats all...is the first one that ever came to my calling. I knew better than to eat him cause he had to be sick!

And remember, he’s the chief editor too. We only see he wants and uploads. While it might have been what meets the eye, you and I weren’t there. We really don’t know the full story.

I didn't see at as inexperience. It looked like they knew exactly what they were attempting to do, lock up a claim on a public land area by placing a blind. I can certainly see that side of it. At the same time, let’s not knight or sanctify Dave just yet. I recall watching an episode from last seas...

Re: 870 compact 20 Indian creek chokes and tss
Save even more with a Remington Super Full (RSF .572). With the 1-5/8 oz handload of 9’s I use, mine averages over 300 in the 10” and more than 200 in the 10”-20”. I also have a IC .555. It will match or exceed the RSF 10” numbers but not the 10”-20” numbers and has a few gaps. I rarely hunt with it...

I got a TriStar G2 turkey .410 last year for my wife, and it will be to long for kids. She didn’t have time to hunt very much last year, so I had to break it in!!! It a great little turkey thumper!!!97222EFC-92B0-489E-80F6-632E14DB964A.jpeg That’s sweet looking! How’s the trigger pull?

Shame there’s not an “over the counter” rib mount for a FF akin to the mount for Aimpoint’s s-1 micro. Aimpoint is the ticket if you got $700 laying around.

I will try to find the data on the TN study as time allows but that study hasn’t been published in final form. However, this is the study SC used and relied on when modifying their regulations. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/wildlife/turkey/pdf/2018SCDNRTurkeyReporttoGeneralAssembly.pdf Bottom of page 13: “...

Re: New regulations for SC
Historically, I think you would be right. Early in the seasons dominant birds often have large harems of hens and therefore gobble little after flydown and are essentially uncallable. They account for a big part of the breeding, so turkeys had a built in protection against this early overharvest of...

Does any research exist that proves that th...

Well done! I’m lifting a prayer now for any turkey that dares to gobble in your presence if you happen to ever achieve average hunter status in the future. I hope get to enjoy similar experiences with your son in a few years.

I have shot a few with 9's that when I peeled the skin back pellets dropped out and were visible everywhere. They don't all penetrate every time in every situation. I only shoot 8 and 7 shot now My experience as well. No matter if the loads are test rated at 1000 or 1250 fps, the turkeys are skinny...

I often find TSS in breasts of turkeys I’ve shot, including some I’ve shot that were facing me and well less than 50 yards away. I have no doubt there was also shot that passed slap though and embedded 2” deep in a hardwood behind the turkeys. My suspicion is that there are always a few flyers and l...

I have a Mossberg 500 youth, and I thought as you did, gonna be too short. I swapped out the stock for a full size tactical, and two minutes later I put the shorter factory stock right back on. Way more comfortable seated against a tree. I did add a Beartooth comb riser on it and that made it just ...
