Re: snake bites anyone?

I got bit by a 18" Copperhead on the heel of my right hand when I was 19 yrs old. (Yes, I was playing with it) I immediately sucked the bite and then soaked it in diesel fuel. I worked on a farm and the diesel was handy and seemed like a good idea at the time. It hurt like hell for several days, but...

I've got one that I customized a long time ago. I was trying to sell it for a while, but I've decided to keep it.

Re: jealousy or unsportsmanlike

I had someone cut 2 of the 35" tires on my truck. I was about 8 miles from the highway on public land. Cost me about $1000 and my truck had to stay out there for a week. Who has 2 35" spares?? Had the same thing happen to me in Alabama and Kansas ! Now I carry a spare game cam and set it up looking...

Re: Wish I hadn't!

I ain't out there trying to manage turkeys, but if I knew one didn't have decent spurs, I wouldn't hunt him. That's why I've never run any game cameras. I love the surprise of rolling a turkey over to see what he's toting. I like spurs, so I wouldn't go after that one. That's just me.

LOL...it's all in the training Grumps. Fin rings a bell by the front door when she needs to go out. She very well may be the smartest dog I've ever had. She picks up on things very quickly.

Finley is 8 months old now and I could not be happier with my decision to get a Boykin. She's starting to settle down and is a great all-around dog. Can't wait to get her in the dove field this fall.

I decided years ago to use burnt cork on the back of my hands. I don't think any camo is necessarily needed on my hands, but it makes me feel better. A lighter and a wine cork is easy to slip into a pocket.

Re: First miss in 3 years

I've missed a couple over the years. It usually doesn't bother me too much because, by the time I get around to pulling the trigger, I've gotten what I value most out of the turkey hunt. A dead turkey is a minor part of why I hunt.
And now you get to hunt that one again.

What do you think Bigfoot wears?
Wrong! Bigfoot wears a suit that produces an electrical current that renders any image of him blurry and inconclusive. I know because he is my cousin.

It is possible that a butcher shop near you has a sealer big enough to seal the turkey for you.

Re: Who calls?

On the rare occasion that I hunt with other people, I don't care who calls because I don't consider myself a great caller. I have had a couple of times where I completely understood why we didn't kill a bird though. Mostly that is because some guys call too much to a roosted bird, IMO.

Nope...not what I'm saying at all, but read into it whatever you want. I like the way that you only quoted half of my post and left out the part where I tried to explain what I was getting at.
And though I don't like strutting decoys either, reaping is on a whole nuther level, in my book.

Re: First Bird Despite Disrespectful Hunters

Folks can kill turkeys any way they want. Killing turkeys does not make one a turkey hunter. Turkeys are incredibly easy to kill, but can sometimes be difficult to hunt. If you don't understand that, I can't help you. It's like this GA turkey hunter that you speak of that carries a fan for the "stub...
