Re: Crow calls. Best of the best
I hunt w/ a good friend/cousin that has a plethora of turkey calls, if you ask him at anytime what's the best, most consistent, turkey killingest call he has in his vest... he'll pull out his faulks crow call  I'll say this, Bc I know I'm not the only one on this forum that's done it! But If yo...

Re: Best shot trap material?
Building my own shot trap and just wanted some opinions on what material is best to use to stop tss. Would like to keep it cheap if possible  I found a roll of the ribbed rubber runner on clearance at Lowes. Works pretty well except for pieces coming off and making it harder to separate it...

Here is the link to the article mentioned above about the 55,000 psi on 870 barrels. http://www.shotgunlife.com/shotguns/tom-roster/important-information-about-shotshell-pressures.html Read an article as well just now that said benelli proofs their barrels to 19,571 psi. So rating wise that fabarm s...

-Throw your solvents in the trash and buy 2 HVAC brushes(stainless for chokes, brass for barrels) Rod ( I make my own, 10X cheaper and 10X stronger) , paper towel, shot or two of Rem-oil, high speed drill -2 minutes tops and done! -They will also outlast any gauge specific bore brush you can buy 100...

Re: Length of Pull for youth gun?
General rule of thumb for LOP is measure form crease of the inside bend of the arm to middle crease of the trigger finger. However you can't get that exact measurement now, I do have this experience, when my ole man first started me out w/ an Youth H&R .410 (12 1/2" LOP) and it was still to...

Re: Want to get my daughter shooting
Having a daughter thats probably a wee bit younger than yours, she's just not quite there yet this season, I have thought about this, But I have not done it, so others may have more experience and a load already. A youth 20 gauge with a 3/4 oz. load of TSS #9s would be the ticket. A 3/4 oz. load of ...

]I bought cheap $10 Redfield 2 piece bases from a local cabelas to put on a youth 870 20 gauge. locked it down in a vise on a drill press, Measured the hole spacing to match that of a factory 870 12 ga spacing in case it didn't hold I could switch to more expensive one piece base. Drilled and tapped...

8-10" is extreme, but I have seen worse, almost double that, out of a Luxus F3, needless to say that gun got sent back to Blaser. Over the phone when he told them it was a ft. and half high at 20 yds they thought he was crazy. When they got the gun and shot it they called him back and said wow ...

Re: CZ Mallard Barrel Regulation
Maybe this will help a bit w/ my previous explanation. In these pictures, their is a laser in both barrels and they are pointed out across the yard onto a fence pole at 30 yds. there is about a 5" gap between point of impact between both barrel on the vertical pole at 30 yards. In one picture y...

Re: CZ Mallard Barrel Regulation
one shot will not be able to tell you the true difference. just bc they are 5.5" apart at 30 yd don't mean they will be further apart at 40yds. its dependent upon the angle of the barrel or barrels vs angle of the rib/bead. if that makes any sense. The barrels POI in relation to the bead may be...

Take a $20(amazon)-$30(walmart) Bushnell Laser boresighter, they come with 20 and 12 gauge arbors. take your choke out, insert the boresight into the choke, tighten the arbor up in the choke. screw the choke in the gun, make sure the bore sight cap is screwed down, all the way! tight! wait till its ...

Interesting that it was better at 70 than the IC note the difference in the barrel lengths on the far left. I haven't tested the IC on the 26" barrel, the Extra barrel length also increases velocity, this is true for anything you put down the barrel, factory or handload. But, considering the e...

some Data I have collected over past two weeks, figured it would be easier to look at a spreadsheet than post a bunch of pattern pictures. gives you an idea of what to expect, two different barrels tested and 4 different chokes. These were all just one shot groups not averages or anything. Hope it h...
