Re: Rest in peace, Clark Bush.
I shared a booth with Clark and Doris for 3 days at the 2014 NWTF show, selling my first book. They are such nice people! I'm so sorry to hear of Clark's passing. He is, and will be, sadly missed.

Clark was a great guy. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. We had lots of fun at the NWTF convention several years ago. My condolences to Doris and everyone else who knew him.

There is no application period. Public is open to anyone with a hunting license and turkey tags. Good luck. It might be crowded!

Re: Wes Vandenbark Artwork
Wes ROCKS! I have many of his prints, and he supplied 11 drawings for my first book. I used two of those same drawings in my second book, and intend to continue with their use in all subsequent volumes. My books are a whole bunch better, just from having his artwork grace the first and last pages!

Re: Hawaii trip 2021
Leaving here in about 6 hours for a return trip to the islands. I've been there twice before, so I can't hardly wait! It's a fun hunt, but more rugged (on public land) than anywhere else I've been. Wear boots with good ankle support, or hunt private land down low, where the terrain is more gentle. A...

I highly recommend Jim's books to everyone on here. He's as 'et-up with turkey hunting as anyone I've ever met, and his writing is top-shelf stuff.

Re: Reaping outlawed on SC Public lands
Have you seen the regulation changes for non-residents of SC? It now costs about $400 to hunt their public land, for 2 birds, and you still can't hunt on Sundays. Nope. I'm done with that state.

Reservation only for Non-Residents in the spring, but I believe we can hunt there in the fall on public land. I've been there a couple times and killed some birds, but there aren't a whole helluva lot on that reservation. Nor, trees!!!

Re: HELP Please!!!! Osceola hunting ??????????????????
I've been hunting public land down there since 1988, and guiding on private land since 2001. I've had lots of great hunts on public properties, but lots of tough times, as well. Can you kill your bird on public? Of course you can. I do so just about every year. Might it be the best experience of you...

Re: Are Russell moccasins really worth the money???
I owned a pair many years ago. Certainly excellent boots with a great fit, but I'm awfully hard on footwear; I walked the soles plumb off of them much sooner than I would've expected. Rather than send them back in for resoling, I just wore them as true moccasins for several more years. Are they wort...

Re: Spankin 'em in Florida!
It's a good thing you're already locked in for 2020, Charlie. We're good where we're at, but next year I'm gonna have to bump my prices to help offset these guys that don't tip. I know how hard I bust my hump to make these hunts work, so after hearing that most guides get an extra 15-20% in tips, I'm...

Spankin 'em in Florida!
Just checking in. We are having wonderful weather and tremendous success down here in Florida. My guided clients have killed 12 birds in only 8 days!! Still have lots of tom's running around, so if anyone is interested in a flash Osceola hunt before I head north on April 7th, don't hesitate to send ...
