Re: Montana 2012 - 2018
It's tough when the youngsters get to living there lives and leave dad to hunt by his lonesome, they all try to get a hunt in through out the season with me and I sure miss hunting with them. That's some great looking pictures!.

Prayers please. [ updated]
One thing in life I love with all my heart is my 4 children, over the past weekend my 24 year old give us some bad news and has to have surgery Friday the 22nd. As a parent there is nothing that will worry you and scare you as bad as something wrong with one of your children. I'd like to ask for pra...

Re: ShurShot Stock question
You won't regret it, I wish I would have went to a red dot 20 years ago, finally went to one 3 hears ago and absolutely love it. I’ve avoided it for years. I was trying to keep things as simple as possible. As I’ve gained more knowledge of hunting birds. I’ve learned I need more patience in the spo...

Re: Jelly Head Maximum .570
I'm pretty sure it is a .570 but I'm not absolutely sure it is a .570. It is the old style. FWIW them cheap Primos Titewads through a decent pattern with tss also. My 870 is finicky as all get out and likes tight chokes, I'm using a .555 Indian Creek but recommend a red dot or scope with it. That 87...

Re: Jelly Head Maximum .570
A lot of guys have good luck with the factory Remington RSF choke and my son shoots a .575 Carlson out of his 870, I have a primal jellyhead somewhere that shot good patterns but that .575 Carlson shoots great in my son's gun.

Re: Learned Or Habitat?
I agree on terrain, I have a spot that has been like that also around 20 years and generally kill a Tom on the same 100 yards of ridge line at the very minimum of every other year and for at least 14 years my partner and I killed every year there.

Re: Code for BPI TSS
I believe I’ll stick with Tommy and Hal and Ronnie. These guys have been straight up great to deal with. Nothing against BPI as I buy hulls etc from them, but how many times do we see it posted here; where can I find x, BPI is out of them? If it wouldn’t have been for Tommy, the 2090 would have nev...

Re: Cleaning spurs for spur chain - talk about nasty
I take a nail just smaller than the 2 openings under the spur & push out the bone marrow & tendons. I then put the spurs in a container with 20 Mule Team Borax making sure the bone & tendon sheath are filled with the borax. I let then sit for a couple of weeks after which I make sure al...

Re: Thanks to the pioneers of Tss!
For those of you that shoot tss, is Apex better than Federal loads? Also, would you rather shoot the 7x9 or straight 9's and why? Strait 9's is all you need, I have duplexed 7x9 and 8x9 and they work good, most of my patterns seem like the larger shot stays more to the 10" core, but 9's are wh...

Re: Thanks to the pioneers of Tss!
Browning TSS will be loaded by Winchester not Federal. I don't know who loads it, just assumed it was loaded by Federal. According to the article, they are saying a 3.5" 2.5oz. 8x10 and 7x9 blend in 12 gauge and a 1.625 oz. 20 gauge 8x10 and 7x9 blend for 2019. The article is on page 80 of Jan...

Re: Thanks to the pioneers of Tss!
Kyle Smith is the pioneer. Without him TSS might not be where it is today. I've got a dual wad load that I believe he originated. It's amazing how a shot that other forums banned from being talked about and even did away with a sub forum for reloaders is having to eat there words now, but enough on...

Thanks to the pioneers of Tss!
I received my copy of Turkey Country in the mail today and was reading that Browning now has a TSS load, undoubtedly loaded by Federal and also that Federal has come out with a 7x9 & 8x10 blend and it got me to thinking, I'm glad other hunters can experience the patterns and effectiveness of tss...

Jerry Etheridge does a fine job, just had him dip my Shurshot stock and forearm for my 870, I had all the metal ceracoated midnight bronze. Ethridge Hydro graphics are a great bunch to deal with.
