Re: Furthest you have seen a bird fly to get to your calls?
For the second year in a row I killed one that flew to me! My second bird of the season last week flew across a steep holler when he saw my decoy I had staked 3' from me. I had just sat down because I had no more cover to move closer and he was working his way across the hillside 150+ yards away. H...

A West Virginia season to remember!
My personal 2017 spring gobbler season has come to a close and I am extremely thankful for the opportunities and the days I was in the timber! Success came quickly on our very first outing on youth day. April 15th. I had scouted out an area with a good bit of turkey sign and had watched a big tom an...

Awesome stories. The bird I killed last year flew roughly 250 yards off a ridge and landed 60 yards from me. He died rather quickly! Lol

Yep. My dad has two of them. One with a round barrel and one with the octagon. Not sure what year they are I would have to look. Fun little guns to shoot!Grumpy wrote:Nice, seems to me the winchester we had when we were kids looked like that but had an octagon barrel.

Re: Great bird!
WOW!!! What part of WV? I had a close call with one in Roane county opening weekend that was a true stud. His spurs looked to be 1.5" or so according to the footage we got of him. That bird however is unreal! I would get that one mounted no doubt!
