Re: Another Yildiz .410 Single shot
Mine is bone stock except for the red dot and it puts about 115 of the TSS #9's in a 10" @ 40. Carter swears by it and I like it as well. What red dot are you running on that little gun? I've got a very cheap unit on mine at the moment. It's a SightMark I bought 2nd hand for $40. Put it on sig...

Re: Another Yildiz .410 Single shot
I understand that. The reason I do not take the red dot off this because the gunsmith drilled completely through the receiver. You don't do that when you drill and tap for mounts, do you?SumToy wrote:It should go back in the same holes. it is set so you can drill and tap.

Re: Another Yildiz .410 Single shot
I got 3 of them in the shop. I have been watching them. I have seen as low a 60's and some as high as 110. I figured it may be the difference in the load/loader. Now with the three I have I found that they go from 390 395 and a 397 so thinking that is what we running into with them. Sumtoy drilled ...

Another Yildiz .410 Single shot
I grabbed my second Yildiz single shot this past Saturday. I plan to leave this one bone stock for the kids to shoot bluerock, rabbits, squirrels and the like. I will try some of my turkey loads through it just to see how it shoots but that's it for now. Pretty decent wood on this one too. I really ...

Re: If you go to Missouri, better have a plugged gun
I live and hunt in Missouri and have never had an issue with the game wardens in our area. In fact, they have went out of their way to help me solve issues before. With that being said, you never know what you might run into with a warden. Where abouts were you hunting? I live and hunt in NW Missour...

Re: Last youth hunt
Congratulations to you and your Son. I always like seeing pictures of successful youth hunts, especially those that include family and a Mossberg. We have that little youth 500 20ga and a Remington 870 youth 20ga. My two youngest boys, 20 and 15, will fight over who uses the Mossberg. I have an 835...

Last youth hunt
Saturday morning was a bittersweet morning. My youngest son punched his tag for his final youth season turkey. We had a great hunt and had a dead bird at 6:49am. Youth Mossberg 500 20. gauge shooting Winchester 3" 5's. Bird was about 12 yards away when he shot.

Re: SE Shenanigans Nail Call
Do you make these calls? I have a real weakness for turkey calls and do not have anything like that in my call bag.

Re: Recommended red dot for Yildiz single shot
Well, this journey has just taken a turn I had not anticipated. The gunsmith that mounted the rail for the red dot scope drilled through the barrel. It's a small hole but it's a hole and I don't know what that means to .410 shotguns. This sucks pretty bad and makes me a little sick. So, what say you...

Re: Recommended red dot for Yildiz single shot
there are some cheap clones of the FF series. I think Weaver makes one. Buy a Burris 336 mount and use a clone. If you upgrade, you can swap out dots. Just make sure whatever you buy works on the 336 mount. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR4.TRC1.A0.H0.X...

Re: Broadheads for Gobblers
I've used two blade rage with great results. I've never gotten caught up in the "turkey head" craze. I just use a good sharp broadhead and shoot them high right under the wing butt. They usually drop right there, the longest recovery I've had with that shot is about 20 yards. Shoot 'em hig...

Re: Recommended red dot for Yildiz single shot
The only thing "cheap" about the Yildiz is the price. I probably have 4 times the costs of the gun in mine considering choking, red dotting it, trigger work and artwork on the stock. Don't scrimp on optics if you value your time hunting turkeys. Gil Gil, I get what you're saying but would...

Recommended red dot for Yildiz single shot
I'm picking up a new Yildiz single shot .410 tomorrow and wondered what everyone does for red dots on these little guys. I was looking at the Burris FF series but don't want to spend >$200 on a scope for a $130 shotgun. Was wondering if anyone uses the cheaper little reflex scopes and have success w...
