Thanks for the reply batsonbe! Maybe a lighter payload 13/16 oz might get it up over a 1000fps?

IMR 4227
Have any of y’all tried to use IMR 4227 powder, for a 3” 410 load? Not looking for load data, just curious if anybody has used it before?

That Catman kid really broadcasts TN as a hot spot in the south. I’d definitely try it out there first. Especially with gas blowing through the roof.

Re: What is the hardest and easiest gobbler to kill?
I’ve only killed Easterns. Seems from reading multiple replies from all over, guys out west claim their Merriams are harder than an Eastern. And.. the guys out east claim Easterns are harder than a Merriams. Lol I hunt in GA mostly. The hunting in my neck of public woods has become a **** show over ...

Re: Jebs ported .410 choke
Buddy of mine was trying to get his new CVA Scout .410 dialed in with the jebs choke that came with the gun. .390 I believe. He had some Apex Ninja 9.5’s. I also brought some of my 3” handloads. 9.5’s. The setup wasn’t very impressive at 40yds. Very open pattern. It was barely huntable at 40yds. His...

Re: Covid question?
I’m not vaccinated. Not going to get jabbed either. Caught it back in Nov of 2020. Lost my sense of smell for 3 months. Felt like I was wearing lead clothes for about 5 days. Caught the omicron variant a few weeks back. It was like having a cold. Wasn’t too bad. My wife was forced into getting vacci...

I’ve had my M3020 for 6yrs. I’ve had the same Carlsons extended .575 in it from the beginning. I load multiple recipes from Hal. It loves multiple 1 5/8oz loads. The past two seasons I’ve been using a 1.5oz load of Hal’s and it’s my favorite.

I get great results with my M3020 with a Carlson’s .575 extended using the 1 5/8 XL and Stubby loads from Hal. This new MOA load is throwing some awesome patterns!

Duplex Load
I’m going to try to load a 2.75” with TSS 8’s & 9’s. The recipe is Hal’s.
Looking for recommendations on how to load.
Going to make it 50/50 8’s and 9’s.
Load the 8’s first, then the 9’s?
Thanks

Re: Gas and miles driven during Georiga season
My 2003 4x4 Sequoia has a gas gauge that isn't a reliable indicator of gas in the tank. It has a 25 gallon tank. To insure that I don't run out of gas, I keep a notebook in the truck and reset the trip meters when I fill up and write down mileage and gas put in. When I get close to 300 miles on the...

Re: Your Worst Non-Self Inflected Gobbler Screw-up or Loss
This past Friday morning was the most painful for me... My son and I were set up on a bird. He was acting right and we he were nestled up in some small water oaks and some honeysuckle vines. I had put out a hen decoy at 25yds. The gobbler was roosted about 175yds out in a field with scattered trees ...

Re: Franchi affinity vs sa-08 vs Stoeger 3020 which one?
I own a Stoeger M3020. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra $200 or so for the Franchi. It's a great gun! Patterns well with TSS too. I get 300's to 330's using a Carlson's .575 with the Big 20XL, Big 20XLS, and Stubby Loads. It's a mean gun. Shot ducks with it last year with a box of #4 Hevi-Metals. G...

A buddy of mine killed a gobbler 5 or so years ago that came in "Yalping" with 3 other longbeards at the end of April here in Ga.
They were acting like winter time gobblers.
