Re: VP90/93 - 870 Youth w/ Remington Turkey Choke

I had consistency issues with the 93. Switched to circle fly nitro cards and no more gas seal issues. However your loading technique could also be contributing to issues. Lots of variables either way Which hull gave you problems? It seems that the the 93s fit a bit loose in the cheddite hulls. For ...

Re: Best Turkey Chair

I have used an aluminum REI low camping chair (4 lbs) for years but wore it out finally last season and they don't make them now. I replaced it with an ENO Eagles Nest (3.5 lbs) and packs up to half the space of typical gobbler style chairs in its own carrying bag with an adjustable shoulder strap....

I hear you loud and clear. The population decline is a major concern.
Surely, though, you are growing more than you are killing.

Re: Getting close in Mississippi

We had a great hunt this morning that ended in the old catch and release... gobbled on the roost pretty good, got him to crank up on the ground. I Figured out we were on the wrong side of a creek. Got repositioned on his side. Got a hen mad and came in aggressive clucking looking for a fight. Told ...

Re: Mossy Oak rain gear reviews

I have a set that I’ve had several years. They are well made. A bit heavy to wear though in warm weather.
I don’t think I paid $99 each for jacket and pants. Maybe half that much? I’ve had mine awhile.

Re: 410 Tristar Advice

I have the same gun and run the 380..Will do 200 plus..the highest I have done was 218..A wise man once told me you gotta keep the 410s super clean and that’s what I do.Every time i fire a shot threw it the barrel comes off and gets scrubbed clean then swapped with alcohol..bore snake is a joke IMO...

Re: 410 Tristar Advice

How many oz load? I’ve only seen others patterns and not sure if they polished their barrels or not. But have seen 190-220 in the 10 with the 380 Indiancreek and my foxtrot 383 strokers 9.5’s. (7/8oz) My handloads are 7/8 oz 9.5s. I’d like improve my numbers closer to that 200 mark. Just don’t know...

Re: 410 Tristar Advice

Pattern sounds really good. If you don’t mind me asking, is there a hole in the pattern or are you looking for more consistent? Pattern does not appear to be “blown”. No obvious holes like it’s “over choked”. I would like it to be a little more consistent and I would also like to increase my number...

410 Tristar Advice

Need some advice on what I can do to improve my Tristar G2 patterns. I’m getting decent numbers but not as good as what I often see posted here. Also seems to be variable. I am running a dry bore snake between shots. Should I try a IC 385 or 390? Thanks Tristar Viper G2 410 7/8 oz handloads 9.5s IC#...

Re: Meat grinder

I was in the same situation as you with processors in my area and only needing one or two deer processed. I did a lot of checking on meat grinders. I really wanted a LEM but just couldn’t justify the cost based on my needs. I ended up getting a Turboforce International STX. The reviews are excellent...

I got a Sumtoy base for my Tristar 410 and then drilled another hole on my drill press. Works fine.
