Re: Turkey chair weights

Walmarts and bass pros were right below 6 pounds years ago. Academy's chair is the most comfortable I've ever sat but it just shy of 10 pounds.

Re: Franchi Affinity 3 Pros/Cons 20ga

I've seen the affinity stick with federals that are on the hot side. Never seen a fiocchi stick after shot. These issues we had were with cycling unspent shells that were a little long, I'll have to test and see what length gives 100% proper cycling. I had some of shooters loads but lost them with n...

Re: Franchi Affinity 3 Pros/Cons 20ga

No way that trigger issue is a lemon, it's all of them I've held. I dont have short trump fingers either. I cant figure why it's not a bother to more people. The action issue is not a huge deal but really any auto user should be wary. If you drop your gun whilst hunting just check before a bird gets...

Re: Franchi Affinity 3 Pros/Cons 20ga

Oops, one more big complaint. Apparently it is very easy to bump the action open. If you hit the ground with your stock it will come open but it still looks closed. Also it can pop open while crawling if your not careful.

Re: Franchi Affinity 3 Pros/Cons 20ga

I swear the shells need to be shorter than a m2. I think a 2.65 wont cycle but could be wrong. Anything 2 3/4 works, so plenty to choose from. Lil zip, xlg, xxlg, thor. My complaint, and the main complaint of a close friend who has an otherwise awesome setup, is that the trigger is very hard to reac...

Re: Buffer in a .410

I've used buffer, but I prefer styrofoam or even a .410 felt on top. I buy 3/8 round styrofoam rope for insulation now and it works great. Just cut off about 1/4 or 5/16 long piece.

Re: Mossberg 500 .410 patterns

Good deal, older .410s that have "broken in barrels" seem to do well with tss. I'm not afraid to shoot one at 50 with it thanks to my sumtoy .385 choke. Not planning on it but no doubt it would work 100% of the time if I did my part. I'd take this .410 tss over a 12 gauge lead any day.

Re: Mossberg 500 .410 patterns

In general that gun shoots between 80 and 100 in 10" at 40 yards with tss. But one could always get lucky. Remington 870 seem to be the gun that gets good patterns out the box. One of the best patterning guns I've ever seen is a guy on here who has a mossberg with comp n chokes.

Re: Sights on Yildiz .410 Single

I cast my own at that area as well. Used aluminum brazing rods melted down. Worked fine, aluminum is easy to tap. But since I had sent to sumtoy I had him go ahead and put a base on chamber.

Re: Yildiz410

Yeah I think if you burn the correct image in your brain you'll know when it's wrong! I could also feel it was wrong just by playing with breech trigger when closed. Also just look at bright side, if it ftf you might be extending your season! Fooling him is the fun part anyway for me.

Re: Yildiz410

Awesome rackmaster! Boy that click on a gun you spent so much time and money on is a sick feeling. It's obviously not machine to very exacting standards but I'm glad more info is coming out so we can feel confident with them hunting.

Still trying to find a midland. Everyone can get a 12 but no 20 or 410. The 20 comes threaded for Benelli mobile.

Re: Drill and Tap 870

I drilled and tapped one probably 20 years ago in my teens. Shot a bunch of heavy loads through it and never had a problem. Still carry it about once a year. Didnt use fine thread screws either. 8-32 i believe.

Re: Yildiz410

Shot mine today, 5 reloads with questionable primer sets and 5 tss handloads...no ftf. It really made my day. After seeing and "feeling" this gun out I really dont see how the hammer spring could become faulty after a few years or few hundred rounds. I think this is why briley doesnt send ...

Re: Yildiz410

Also a good polishing or filling on the barrel part that touches the breech opening trigger might work...but I honestly don't know what direction to file or how much to remove where. It was so obvious when I took stock off and fired both in closed and open position. In open it worked flawless. In cl...

Re: Yildiz410

I agree, my ftf started after I took gun apart first time. Then went away when I took apart again. Then started back when I got back from sumtoy and put back together again! Wish I'd had done a video showing what was happening. I added washers to hammer spring last night and quickly realized it didn...

Re: Yildiz410

The silver breech opening trigger is pushed foward by the internal hammer when you pull trigger. In my case that part was binding and not moving fully foward. I dont know for sure what it binded on but swapping the side that the barrel connecting bolt was installed loosened everything up. It could b...
