Need to buy .410 components maybe trade

Need to buy .410 components: hulls 3" primed, TPS wads, overshot cards, nitro cards. Just need enough to load 25-30 shells. Won't shoot many .410 loads and don't really want to buy max capacity components. If anyone is willing to sell me 25-30 hulls 3" primed, TPS wads, overshot cards, nitro cards s...

Re: New Stevens 301 Turkey .410

Bought a 301 (mossy oak obsession) Saturday at Academy. No shops around me have had any.
Thought I'd check out Academy again and one had just come in they hadn't put it on display yet. That was the only one they had.
Pretty sweet little gun. Lot's of features for the price.

I have an early model DFT2. Have yet to find a long gun that doesn't fit it well. Looking at the newer version I can see your concern as the front rest wings seem higher and the cavity narrower than mine.
 10-4

If anyone has the newer model let me know how you like it.

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Follow up question. The newer Caldwell lead sleds have a skeletonized front rest versus the bag on the older models. I've read that the new front rests are narrow (Lead sled 3 and DFT2) and some shotguns forends don't fit in them well. Anyone with the newer front rest have this happen? Is it an issu...

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Not that it's any of my business, but you can just make a bag of sand or whatever instead of buying a bag of shot. I have even used a couple 10lb weights from a weight room. Yeah several options for weight e.g. sand bags, weights, lead shot etc..lead shot bags are supposed to absorb recoil better t...

Re: Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like no issues if you use them right. Probably gonna order a leadsled DFT2 and 15lb lead shot bag for weight.

Caldwell Lead Sled concerns?

Hey guys, Does anyone use a lead sled for sighting in your turkey gun or testing new loads especially using a red dot? I've used the Primos group therapy rest the past few years but the piece that holds the butt stock broke so it's done. Going to use a Vortex Venom this year for the first time and r...

Re: Henry 410 Single

I don't own a Henry 410 single shot but saw some information on one and they look well made.
Nice wood and comes standard with screw in chokes. Not a cheap gun.
The little single is listed at 6.55lbs. The weight may be a deal breaker for some but a sweet looking gun.

You don’t need a protector until you need it. I have been selling them and they sell so fast I haven’t been able to keep one on my 20ga 😆
Good advise hoobilly. I've seen your warbird protector on here pretty slick.

Vortex Venom cover

Okay GN I just bought a Vortex Venom for spring turkey hunting. Probably going to put it on an 870 20ga but I have four 12's that I'm partial too so that may change but anyway I'll be using an Aimtech saddle mount. I'm questioning whether to buy a protective cover or not. Does anyone not use one wit...

Re: Vortex Viper Red Dot?

Hoobilly, Look at the screws that came with the base. I'll bet they are too short. If you're not using all of the threads that are cut into the receiver things have a tendency to move. Same goes for the screws that hold the sight to the base. I have an FF3 on an OR3GUN base a Vortex Venom on a SumT...

Re: Vortex Viper Red Dot?

I have a Viper and a Venom plus a FFIII I think the Viper is sturdier than the Venom but I think both actually shift from shooting turkey loads. Reason is they shift and have caused missed turkeys and have had to shoot and adjust again during turkey season. The Burris FFIII has stayed true after di...

Vortex Viper Red Dot?

Anybody use a Vortex Viper red dot? I was seriously considering the Venom but Optics Planet.com has the Viper on sale for 174.99 Going to run one on an 870 20ga (TSS #9 hand loads). From what I've read compared to the Venom the Viper is lower profile and 6MOA (standard). The Viper uses an older styl...

Following up on an old post.
The trial camera pictures above were taken November 1st 2016. I killed the buck on November 6th 2017.
Going by body characteristics and skull plate thickness we estimated this buck at 6 years old+.
