Re: for those who remember Big Red
I think the fact that Secretariat was 31 lengths in front and still ran well over 2 seconds faster is impressive. I wonder how fast he would have run if there was another horse pushing him like American Pharaoh had. Just a thought.

Re: I hate ticks!
I used Permithrin this spring and knock on wood didn't find one on me. Maybe I was lucky but I do know I spent a lot of time turkey unting in the woods. I believe it works well.

Re: not sure I could handle it othewise
Fall birds are fun too, here in Pa. we have a special tag for fall so it doesn't have any bearing on the spring season.

Re: How long can you take it?
If it's quiet in the early morn I'm not staying put very long. If I hear gobbling around me and it quiets down I'll stay a while and hopefully fire up one of the gobblers later in the morn.

Re: PA #2,old 2 toes
Yea it's slow here in NW Pa. Hear a few gobbles early then it gets quiet. To me the only way to find one is to prospect around and hopefully find a lonesome bird. Didn't work today.

Re: Fog... forest or fields?
Don't really have an answer. I killed my turkey this spring on a very foggy morn. He and his buddy flew down into the woods with a field just 40 yds away and walked to me, then the next day again in the fog we had 2 bird strutting across a foggy field only to hang up and leave when they saw the deco...

Re: Neighbor Hunting Over Bait
That's a load of crap. A pitcher full of corn wouldn't fill a turkey's crop let alone a cow. The game commission needs to be notified, these kinds of outlaws need to be taken out of the woods as they have no concept of turkey hunting in it's purist form. Poachers ore the lowest type of people.

Re: How long can you take it?
If it's later in the morning I can sit and cold call for a while, sometimes I find a tree that just feels good and other times there's that little rock or root that just hits your butt the wrong way and it's time to move. If I have heard a bird from the area I can sit and try to wait him out but I a...

Ticks suck, I've sprayed my clothes with Permethrin so I hope it will keep them away.
