Re: racoons
Coons are for sure a problem but skunks are just as bad. It is a shame that fur is no longer the "in thing" to wear.

Nice ride Ronnie,
Worst thing about a Toyota it is that they just don't wear out. I finally gave mine away just to get rid of it. Now all it needs is some decals.

Re: Missouri Turkey Harvest Up again
MO has always had a great turkey conservation program. I can remember the first turkey I ever saw back in 1964. Now I doubt many hunters can go to the woods with out hearing or seeing a bird. However getting one isn't always that easy. But it is a blast trying.

Re: Hunting without a Vest
Yep I started years ago back in the late 60's long before the concept of a vest. My coveralls had leg pockets that I carried stuff in. One box call, brown jersey cloves and no face mask. My dad wore bib overalls and a brown plaid flannel shirt. Shot a Win Mdl-12 20ga 2 1/2" chamber, cyl bore an...

Re: Gobbler Lounger
I have a couple of them too and so far they have been solid. I did notice that the main rivet that join the legs is slightly bent but it still folds up fine. I also have the Wal-Mart version and it is great to for the money. The only problem I have ever had is that as the seasons goes on I have prob...

Re: Are snake boots necessary in South Central Missouri?
I am in west central MO and very few hunters wear snake boots. Most of them just wear rubber boots of a morning until the dew drys off and then go to hiking boots. I wear do snake boots because I start wearing then in FL and just stay with them through the seasons. But not because I feel they are ne...

Hope it brought a smile to you all. :) K9Doc, I am just a guy who lives to hunt and enjoy life. guesswho and I ran The Wild Turkey Zone message board for 14 years before we had let it go due to being hacked several times. I have been lurking around the NWTF site for years but...

Re: What is the hardest and easiest gobbler to kill?
For me Easterns are the easiest if they haven't been work a lot. Osceola hasn't been to tough but I hunt private land. Rio sound off a lot and are often in bunches with lots of eyes to watch you. Merriam has been the hardest for me because I hunt the mountains in Idaho. They sound like you are on to...

10 Bearded Missouri Gobbler
Today was the first day of youth season in Missouri and I just scored an amazing 10 bearded gobbler taken by an 11 year old boy this morning. Over 68 total inches of beards, the bird scored 179.25. It will be tied for 3rd in Missouri and tied for 9th nationally. He was on private land and was being ...
