Re: I don't always shoot lead but....
These Longbeards are some of the best patterns I seen with 4 shot 3". I am shooting them in a Browning Citori 12 ga. 28" barrels. I am using the Carlson's LB .665 chock in one barrel and Carlson .680 in the other. The pattern is tight at 15 yds. even with the .680 but 40 is really nice eve...

Re: Turkey People
I got 2 friends that live locally that are turkey hunters 365. One other about 100 miles. The local men and I get together once a month at the house and usually end up all night talking turkey. In between time we are on the phone. None of us hunt anything else or fish, just 100% turkey. I got other ...

Re: % of Gobblers that rarely gobble
Man, that would be a tough one to figure out, lots of variables there. Weather, gobblers may not just have been there the day before, hens in the area or not around, boss gobbler in the area, pressure etc.. Yes happens to me. Sometimes even bad weather days they will sound off. And bluebird days lit...

Good story, thanks for sharing. I would rather hear stories like that then just see dead birds. So weather you got him or not, congratulations on a great hunt.

Re: Sight in off bench or from knee?
Since I use the same gun and ammo every year. I make sure the gun is operational and still POA?POI from a solid sitting position. Using light target loads then I practice from kneeling, standing, prone and in twisted sitting positions.

Re: Long Beard haters and why???
I don't think it is hate thing as more a re-loader thing. They enjoy the re-loading aspect of it and can work up a load that fits their needs and gun. They just settled on TSS. TSS gives the confidence in shooting and killing ability they are looking for. I myself find confidence and load ability fo...

Re: Am I missing something?
But I did hear on the news lately that the push is on agin to ban all lead shot (to include copper/nickel plated) due to birds and other animals ingesting it. And the commentator even mentioned hunters are the main problem with the shells/ammo they use.

Re: question for over under shooters....
I got a Citori that I got from a friend. The bottom barrel is modified and the top is X full. I only notice a very little high/low pattern with the same POA/POI. Not that much to make a difference. I usually lend that out to first time turkey hunters, WW hunts etc for them to use.

Interesting article. Heard rumor of this but nothing solid. Sounds kinda like the turkey eating the grapes thing. (which is a very small percentage) And in this case may be very minimal. Thanks.

Never shot them (Classic Doubles shells) and don't even like EM (EnvironMetal) but they do make a Hevi Shot load that they call "Classic Doubles" which is claimed to be made for the old guns and have less pressure. Yes sir they do. Myself and a couple others have tried them and they patte...
