Re: Louisville Ky is a socialist city
What does the Kentucky state’s constitution say about authority given to the governor and mayors? That may be where the governor and mayors are interpreting that they have the authority to require masks. At least that is what the mayors in several cities of Georgia have stated. “The responsibility a...

Re: Tell me about your pants.
I wear a pair of camo 5.11 pants. Early season I will wear a base layer under them to knock the chill off. They are water repellant, rip-stop, flexible, quiet and affordable.

Re: Trouble with small pallet using mouth calls?
I have. A new press and tape cutter is about $2000. Got to sell a PILE of calls at my price to get it. I have another option for about $400. Saving up to go that route. Its a youth frame jig. Just waiting to see if Im getting a tax return or owe money first. There are about 6 different frames. Each...

Re: Trouble with small pallet using mouth calls?
Houndstooth calls used to make narrow frame calls but when I tried ordering a few last year Lyle had stopped but said he’d be making more.

Great job Del. I too am “blessed” with a narrow pallet and have trouble finding calls that I like or that sound good.

Re: First miss in 3 years
Must be something in the weather. On Saturday I had one come in hard to my right so I switched hands and as he cleared a pine tree, 40 yards away, the FF3 red dot found his head and I squeezed only to see him fly away. He’s probably in Florida by now.

Good shooting Gil. I’m tired of all this rain we’ve been having too. It has messed our camp up and the deer aren’t coming into the foodplots like they should without marring halfway up their legs in mud.

Re: Look but don't touch!
On a dove field I hunt there is an old two wire transmission line running along the field. There have been occasions when the weight of hundreds of dove sitting on the top wire grounds to the bottom wire and there have been as many as a dozen dove killed at one time. Gil Well that’s a way to get yo...

As for those jack legs, why not call some of your old pals in LE and have them locked up for disturbing the peace......your peace of mind that is.

Re: Rivercane Call
The 3 piece cane helper I have rolls over into a two note yelp the same as a wing bone or trumpets that I have. The way my ear hears them is the wingbone has a higher pitch and is louder. I imagine due to the density of the bone vs wood. The trumpets I have are not as high in pitch but just as loud ...

Gil, Great tutorial of making river cane calls. I have a three piece made by Lonnie Mabry that he gave me many years ago. It sure has a sweet, soft sound to it. I too will be attempting my own two piece call. Not sure where in South Georgia you are but if you’re ever up my way, my lease in Greene co...

Re: Nomad vest
I’ve been using the limbhanger since they came out and while it’s functional and carries everything I need, I’ve had to supplement the butt pad with an additional cushion and the back padding is poor at best. It’s literally 1/4” open cell foam that fits between your shoulder blades. If the nomad has...

I walked away from a mint NWTF version last weekend that a dealer had at a gun show. Dealer was asking $320, he told me $275 cash would take it home. Had it been a 20 gauge it’d come home with me.

I have a Truglo gobble stopper or strut stopper .555 that throws inconsistent patterns, I have a Carlson .575 for a Winnie that I liked so I ordered one for my 870 youth. It arrived Tuesday and I put it to work today. 2-3/4”, 1-7/16 oz #9 at 40 yards gave me an even pattern throughout and 209 in 10”.
