Re: Mark Twain national forest

Gar hole!! LOL! haven't heard that one for a while! Really public land isn't that hard to figure out, just go to where you see the least vehicles. Then walk and call until you cannot go any further or you find a bird. If you run out of ground and don't find a bird and are run over with other hunters...

Re: Tri star shot guns

I cannot speak for shooting TSS through one yet ,but I have one in 28 ga. that I love. I was hesitant about buying a Turkish made shotgun but am glad i did. I think they are a well made shotgun for the money. I don`t know about the 20 gauges but my 28 uses Berreta Mobil-choke and shoots directly to ...

Re: Anybody use DSL ????

Hey, at least you're not going to have to do satellite or dial-up  This is true! Trust me, I`m not saying DSL is the end of the world! It`s just a disappointment when a cable company tells you one thing then tells you another a few weeks later after you have already entered into a contract...

Re: The High Cost Of Out Of State Hunting Licenses.

Paid $271.00 for TN last year without buying any public land stamps, MD is at $130.00. I did not hunt MD last year because of lack of time but will this year. Including WV I`ll be at about $500.00 this year. Really the license fees are the cheap part, Fuel , gear, food, drink, shelter, transportatio...

Re: Anybody use DSL ????

Thanks guys, it looks like I`m stuck in the contract so I guess I`ll find out for myself, but i did learn a lesson from this.

If the cable company tells you there is service at an address,, get them to put it in writing!

Oh well! I guess if its that bad I can just resell it or use it as a rental!

Anybody use DSL ????

I know this is an odd subject for a hunting forum, but I`m in the process of buying a home that was supposed to have cable internet access. It would now appear that i cannot get cable there and am looking at DSL with a 3.7 mbps max speed. I just figured a lot of you guys on here lived in rural areas...

Re: What is it??

If you know a bit about WV history you might know that part of the Hatfield-McCoy feud involved some of these trees. If memory serves me correctly 3 of the McCoy boys were tied to them and shot after they stabbed and killed a member of the Hatfield family. They also have way too many seeds for my li...

Pretty scattergun you got there! I could see how that sliding breech could be fast on the dove field once you got the hang of it. Could also see a sore thumb and index finger on a fast day as well ! Wish i would have taken pics of my birds, by the time i remembered they were already butchered.

28 ga. speed bird test.

Got to test my new 28 gauge tristar viper g2 out on some little gray speed birds today. I was very impressed .I've always hunted dove with 12 gauge, but that little 28 with an improved modified sporting clays choke will flat out smash them at 35 with a 3/4 oz. load of 8s. I got an unofficial limit w...

I really was not concerned about myself as much as my neighbor and his granddaughter . She`s only 3 and outside a lot , she is supervised the whole time but bad thin...

Dodged a bullet!

As the title implies, i dodged a major bullet a couple weeks ago. Just got around to posting about since I have been working a pile of overtime. I was on my lot in eastern WV working on a shed I`m building and decided to wrap it up for the day since it was so hot. My neighbor was giving me a hand ca...

Should have never got a 28!

I have decided that i should have never bought a 28 gauge! I`ve had it out twice now patterning and breaking clays and have to say I am hooked. Points great, shoots like a laser, patterns great, and kicks like a 5 pound mule with his legs tied to the ground! These things should be considered a contr...

worst thing around here with all the humidity was the no-see-ums. Tiniest little flies you ever seen, or not seen! But let me tell you they punch well above their weight. Little suckers love wrists and foreheads. Are you sure you're not punching yourself on the forehead & giving them the credit...

Finally got a 28!!

I finally broke down and picked up a 28 ga. , It's a Tristar Viper G2 wood with a 26 inch barrel. Mostly got it for breaking clays and busting doves but i might have to try some TSS in it just to see. :D http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk148/madcatter77/Mobile%20Uploads/20160521_132215_zpsac963f3...

2016 season over for me!

Season is all finished up for me, only managed to hunt 2 states this year and tagged out in both. 4 birds in T.N. and 2 in W.V., West virginia season started off hot with a bird coming straight off roost to me in a 7 acre field i hunt. I could not have scripted it any better, at 6:15 a.m. I let one ...
