Somehow I can remember every single one of them including the ones where I wasn’t the trigger man. I cherish them all equally.

Re: Shooting doubles

I typically never take anyone until I’m tag less. I’ve always found multiple birds problematic at trigger time. Law or not, one is enough for me. You’re missing out on one of the best times of the season imo. Give you a for instance, first time my youngest was out, 10 years old, her n her big siste...

Re: Mentoring

Unfortunately, kids that are interested in the outdoors are pretty rare these days. If the opportunity presents itself I’m always happy to jump on it but it’s been a few years. Use to be easy to find a kid wanting to go. Now it seems like if it doesn’t involve a smart phone, they are just not intere...

Re: great turkey hunting tip

Days that I hunt public, I would rather they didnt gobble on the limb and fire up after fly down. Most people get anxious and move if they hear nothing from the limb.

Re: Aging gobblers

My red phase was 4 years old. I know this because I saw him as a jake, missed him as a 2 year old, seen him strutting with 2 other longbeards a few times when he was 3, and killed him at 4. Im very confident that there were no other red phase in the area as I have seen none before or since in that a...

whatever call I choose to carry on a given day. Im one of those weirdo, extreme minimalists and nowadays only carry a mouth call and 1 other(typically a cane yelper). Re: Decoy or no decoy

Hunting field birds is a challenge. Sometimes they’ll rush right in, other times not so much. Two tips: whether you choose decoys or not, the further he can see your set up the more likely how to get rid of man moobs he his to hang up. You want him to crest a terrain feature and either be in range ...

Any of you have calls you choose not to hunt with because it's just not fair to the Turkey to use them? I have 4... A primos heartbreaker box (not your average heartbreaker, quite the story on this one), A halloran crystal (no need to ask which one), a river cane yelper made by a G_Nation member (ag...
